Fancy visiting New York, Paris, Venice, Rome, Egypt and getting married all in one evening ?

Well, it’s possible at Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps and where everything is destined to keep the gambler awake, making him lose all notion of time (cocktails served regularly, casino interiors, real labyrinths so you can’t find your way out...).

The city is designed so everyone will be satisfied: gamblers, couples, families, students, businessman...

The main artery is called the Strip. It’s 3 miles long and it’s where you’ll find all the most modern casinos, with their attractions each more incredible than the others. A mono rail links up a few of the casinos, but we advise you to visit the Strip on foot. The get there, you can take the Strip Trolley, which leaves every 20 minutes from 9:30 to 1 am.

The casinos on the Strip, from north till south.

-The Stratosphere offers a panoramic view, along with two very impressive attractions (a roller coaster on its roof, the highest in the world).

-The Circus Circus, the entrance of which is in fact a huge circus tent, displays circus performances every 20 minutes.

-Treasure Island, where you can witness two pirate sailing ships attack each-other from 4 pm till 11:30 pm, every hour and a half.

-The Venetian proposes trips on its gondolas under an artificial sky that looks as real as ever.

-The Mirage’s volcano erupts after nightfall every twenty minutes until midnight. It owns a small zoo with dolphins, white tigers, black panthers and an elephant.

-Flamingo is the home of several flamingos and penguins, near the pools and waterfalls.

-The Caesars Palace’s theme is ancient Rome. Its show, Atlantis, is every hour.

-The Bellagio (our favourite) is very luxurious. Admire its famous musical water display and its greenhouse in bloom that’s changed every 15 days..

-The Paris Las Vegas shows you Paris’s most famous monuments.

-The Aladdin plonges you into the Arabian nights with its souk (Desert Passage)

-The MGM Grand is the biggest hotel in the States with 5035 rooms. Its theme is Hollywood.

-The New York-New York gives you a glimpse of the “Big Apple” with it skyscrapers, Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge. Inside it is the Manhattan Express, a roller coaster.

-The Excalibur offers you a medieval set.

-The Luxor sends you to Egypt with its pyramid and sphinx. The attractions aren’t free. Neither is the entrance to Toutankhamon’s grave.

-The Mandalay Bay is very elegant. Its hotel includes an aquarium with sharks

We were located on Fremont Street, in the centre of Downtown, an axis that runs parallel to the Las Vegas Boulevard. That’s where the first casinos were built (Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, Binion’s Horseshoe, Golden Nugget and the Fitzgerald).

Fremont Street Experience is worth seeing with its giant screen (89 feet above the ground with over 2 million spot lights). there are 5-6 minutes long representations every hour as from 8 pm. The place is calmer than the Strip because it’s aged a little, but we were told that’s where the real gamblers go

Las Vegas really is like nowhere else on Earth, a town where everything is permitted. It’s a huge theme park for adults. You like it or you don’t, but we definitely loved it !

Las Vegas is :
the capital city of the state of Nevada;
483 400 inhabitants;
120 000 hotel rooms; a town in the middle of the Mojave desert;
over 100 000 weddings every year. Las Vegas shapeimage_1_link_0
